It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more fun…and not as stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a few years back that is probably cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of these beside you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and feel that now they’re a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have a right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What exactly did BetOnline do to make so many people mad?
We think a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices spans the spectrum of shady behavior, ranging from telling likes to withholding money to getting poor security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what network it was around. They claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about the way they were on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Later reports (in BetOnline) suggested that things were nice and mended, which BetOnline had been (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Though we might lie too if we were on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy way to market a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The justification was nearly always because the client allegedly cheated, even though no proof was ever provided from BetOnline (in the cases we’ve read).
One example that caught our attention was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories that showed him jobless (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the way, and the runaround when they showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories because the files were too large.
(Anyone who understands anything about online poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your own computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send proof someone cheated in case you have nothing to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his cash back. His final update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for him personally but also said the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped into his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it so his buddy could have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from precisely the exact same house at the moment. Most sites would not even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many websites would’ve captured it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS though, is how they wanted to also take his $37,000 he earned since that incident.
Forum members indicated that many legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the exact same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the player’s accounts would come under review. He’d not have the chance to earn the $37,000.
However, now he did, BetOnline wanted it. Buttechnically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this participant’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The last example we want to share is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed how the employees knew their customer’s passwords and login numbers. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a fantastic point. If everyone in the company has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a fantastic answer, just a”ha ha fine grained.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is how these examples are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer number of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the exact same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were struggling to cover their customers.
Thent a couple of months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment team is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “However, as there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is finished, clients will experience radically improved payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment choices, such as same day choices.”
Nobody knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find over $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported by the prior management. I think it’d be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid off it.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are a few complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we’ll address later on in our inspection once it makes sense. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what does this mean for you? In the event you forgive and forget? Are they safe enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would’ve played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we had heard or known about any of the reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your cash on fire.
And we don’t want to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software is not to be dismissed.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and adding new direction to oversee operations, things have improved radically. So much so that we’re comfortable now recommending them to our subscribers.
And it’s not just us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing with there, simply to have a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline altered.
So, here is where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review under.
However, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they currently offer players. So we feel secure having accounts .
It is your responsibility to choose if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their past from the way, let’s jump into what is important now — and that’s what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, gambling choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good choice of banking options. However, you will want to keep in mind that what is available to you will be determined by where you live.
Let us begin with their deposit options.

The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for credit and debit cards. They’re one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s one of the additional kinds, charging 4.9%.
Cash Outs
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, you can utilize:

What I do not like is the way you’ll pay a fee for every banking option. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to cover a 2% fee.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand reports from clients who say they’ve received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I have seen reports that indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 charge every month if you put in your request on a Friday. Oftentimes this will not cover the whole fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: What Can You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. That means that you can bet on sports, play casino and poker games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on sports, horses and finances.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most popular sports in america. Those include:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Soccer Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football One option they’ve added recently is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how fast the business is growing. Each bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the biggest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the near future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing for the exact same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s always going to be the case, nor can it matter if they never enlarge this section of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They offer live gambling also. These options vary continuously, obviously, to coincide with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You might even keep tabs on a few games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and program for future games using their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limits. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. You can also raise your wagering amounts by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable number of promotions, and much more than you will find in their own racebook and financials segment combined. Some of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — make a bet and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a listing of races on their main page. Each record tells you the number of spacious races there are, which should you click on it will expand to reveal the horses, races, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a good section to look through is their racebook info tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their monitor limitations. This tells you that the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Discover how much you will make in case your wager (s) win.Their principles and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It is a good section if you are new to horse gambling.
And that’s about it. This section is much more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the caliber or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min quantity or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a bet for the very first time in the racebook. In the event you shed BetOnline will refund you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets you can bet on will depend on your wager kind.
This section looks to be an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or advertising BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is one of the most well-known options for Americans. They are a part of this Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they’d around 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software upgrade. Previously they had several complaints regarding the quality of their software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But after their update we’ve seen suggestions that they might have some of the greatest applications in america market.
From worst to best at 1 update? That might be pushing it. But based on the pictures I have seen, their software DOES look much better.
But, there are still a few areas BetOnline can improve.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. But they don’t have any choices for cellular players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be wonderful to see more game options.
In general, however, it is nice to see they are making improvements and are getting more aggressive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of that, a Number of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay out this to you $5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re running a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
And it’s not just a”bonus,” however, the matches here must be softer due to the US traffic and the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables ought to be simpler here compared to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft applications, both of which are known for producing topnotch games. Here is how their matches breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for real cash accounts only)
One thing to find here are the accounts I have seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
1 example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was one of the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gaming the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I anticipated them to shine at customer services. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat support (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
Following the live chat session began, I needed to wait a couple of minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password into some live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I explained that I don’t want to enter that information to a chat area and, more importantly, the question demands no such advice because it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in just a moment…” every now and then.
That said, I have also heard the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer services. He also states that your best bet is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to us that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they manage customer support…an
